A Healthy Work Day

Fact: "task-switching increases the brain’s production of cortisol, the primary stress hormone & steals 80% of your time."

We collaborate with schools across 5 regions in NSW, and the one thing all schools have in common is high anxiety & stress levels among staff. From our rural & remote school communities to our metro school communities, we found that school staff spend less than the average worker on a task without an interruption.

So what is the average worker spending on a task uninterrupted? 1 minute & 15 seconds!

Suffering from task-switching and a heavy workload? Please see our suggestions to help below.

Here are 5 ways to improve your working week:

  1. Work in 30- 60 minutes time blocks & stay on one topic
  2. Remove or silence notifications on devices
  3. Work in category order -- > URGENT, important, ideas
  4. Outsource where you can!
  5. Plan your week

Weekly planning: Sunday: Rest day Monday: Planning Tuesday: Administration Wednesday: Deep workflow Thursday: Meetings Friday: Clean up Saturday: Fun & active
